$1,000,000.00 Settlement for a woman injured in two accidents

In 2020, John Burke obtained a more than $1,000,000 settlement for a woman who was injured in two accidents. She was a passenger in a motor vehicle which collided with another car, then about a year later she slipped on fell on ice in a commercial parking lot. The woman had a significant injury to her lower back, which required two significant surgeries, both of which occurred after the fall-down accident on the ice. She had undergone number epidural procedures to her lower back after the car accident as well. John’s client missed two years from work. John was especially aware of what a devastating effect not being able to work has on his clients and fought hard to get her all of her lost wages. John’s Client was fortunately able to resume working recently and she was grateful that her surgeon’s skill also helped her recovery and get back to work. Since this was a complicated case with overlapping injuries to the same parts of her body in the two accidents, John and his team worked very hard to differentiate what harms were caused in which accident. There were six lawyers from different the insurance companies all vigorously defending the case too. The insurance company lawyers had argued that a prior lower back surgery more than 15 years earlier was a factor in his client’s physical limitations. With his client’s help, John was able to show her prior good health including showing photos of her happy, healthy and active before the car accident which his client gave to him and he used throughout the case, resulting in this settlement.
